Wetteraukreis presents future projects at Expo Real 2025!

In the heart of Hesse, the Wetteraukreis economic region is flourishing and is presenting itself today, November 5th, 2025, at the Expo Real real estate fair in Munich. This is the second time that the Wetteraukreis has taken part in this important event, which attracts over 40,000 visitors from 75 countries. The aim of the appearance is to put the Wetteraukreis in the spotlight as a sustainable economic region. The slogan “Wetteraukreis – the green part of the Frankfurt metropolitan region” illustrates the positioning as an attractive region between urban and rural quality of life. How Wetterau.News reported, the presentation will take place at the joint stand of the FrankfurtRhineMain metropolitan region.

There are also four partner municipalities at the stand: Friedberg, Gedern, Nidda, which is in Munich for the first time, and Niddatal. These municipalities present innovative projects that make their contribution to regional development. Nidda is presenting the intermunicipal industrial park Upper Hesse (“IGO Green”), while Gedern is showing an industrial area called “Am Radkreuz” with an area of 52,000 square meters, for which a project-related development plan has already been drawn up. Friedberg is bringing its “Innovation Quarter Kaiserstrasse” and a conversion area of the former Ray Barracks, and Niddatal has office space in the former monastery building Haus St. Gottfried as well as various commercial and residential construction projects in Ilbenstadt and Kaichen.

Personal contacts and new perspectives

Klaus Karger and Oliver Nowak from WiReg will be responsible for looking after the stand. Visiting the trade fair offers representatives of the partner municipalities the unique opportunity to make contacts and explore innovative concepts for the future. District Administrator Jan Weckler emphasizes the essential importance of these projects for the entire Wetterau region and emphasizes that the region's presentation at Expo Real will continue next year, 2026. Anyone interested can contact the Society for Economic Development and Regional Development in the Wetteraukreis to receive further information.

The appearance at Expo Real is not only a showcase for current projects, but also a sign of how important it is to be visible and to promote innovative ideas. At a time when the economy and the environment should go hand in hand, the Wetterau uncovers potential that is important not only here but also far beyond.
