Engers singing club inspires on an adventure trip through Thuringia!
At the end of May and beginning of June, a cheerful group from Engers, consisting of 43 participants from the singing club, traveled to Luisenthal in the Thuringian Forest. It's no wonder that the choir not only explored the cultural roots of the region on such an excursion, but also planned enough time for social moments. Loud View current The trip began with a visit to Eisenach, where the participants were able to enjoy the city of Luther and the birthplace of Johann Sebastian Bach.
In Eisenach there was not only the opportunity for a delicious coffee with cake, but also for exciting visits to some of the sights. The group started the day of travel in a good mood and a wealth of impressions. A highlight of the tour was certainly the visit to the sports facilities in Oberhof, which are known for their winter sports. The area offers numerous attractions, such as biathlon shooting under the guidance of experienced trainers or the opportunity to go bobsledding on the famous sled and bobsleigh track, as the website of Oberhof reveals.
Culinary and cultural discoveries
After an exciting day in Oberhof, where Thuringian bratwurst was also served, the journey continued. The group visited the charming town of Schmalkalden and ended the day on the Großer Inselsberg. At over 900 meters, this mountain is the starting point of the Thuringia-Hesse-Rhine hiking trail and the perfect destination for all hiking enthusiasts.
The members of the singing club also had the opportunity to explore the beautiful landscape of the Thuringian Forest, which is not only known for its winter sports opportunities, but the region also attracts numerous hikers in summer. With 540 km of hiking trails and more than 31 lifts, as described in Outdooractive listed, Oberhof is a popular destination for active holidaymakers.
Diverse leisure options
The region offers a variety of opportunities for nature lovers, be it cross-country skiing on well-developed trails or leisurely hiking. The famous Rennsteig leads directly past the town and beckons with breathtaking nature all the way to the Großer Beerberg. The participants in the club tour were able to prepare for a detailed tour through the Thuringian Forest, which included further highlights in Weimar and Erfurt.
The return journey was equally sociable, with a longer stop in Alsfeld, a picturesque half-timbered town in Hesse. This excursion was not only an opportunity to relax, but also a moment to strengthen the good community and enjoy the cultural treasures of the region together.
