Attention drivers! Speed camera week begins in the Offenbach district!
In the coming week, things will get serious again for speeders in the Offenbach district and the Main-Kinzig district: the traffic directorate has announced extensive speed controls. These measures aim to ensure that road safety is increased in dangerous places and accident hotspots. So reported Rheinmain Publishing that the controls will take place on a total of five days, starting on October 20, 2025.
The exact locations of the speed measurements have already been determined. Here is an overview of the planned measurements:
- 20.10.2025: Dreieich, B 486 in Fahrtrichtung Langen (Wild)
- 21.10.2025: Bruchköbel, L 3347 in Fahrtrichtung Roßdorf (Unfallschwerpunkt)
- 22.10.2025: Froschhausen, L 2310 in Fahrtrichtung B 45 (Wild)
- 23.10.2025: Hanau, Hochstädter Landstraße in Fahrtrichtung Wachenbuchen (Bushaltestelle)
- 24.10.2025: Erlensee, Ausbauende der K 854 in Fahrtrichtung Erlensee (Geschwindigkeitsgefahrenstrecke)
- 25.10.2025 und 26.10.2025: Hanau, B 43a Hanau-Hafen in Fahrtrichtung Fulda (Geschwindigkeitsgefahrenstrecke)
Rules and guidelines for speed measurements
But what should you pay attention to during the checks? In Germany, each federal state has its own rules for speed measurement Cars, motors and sports. For example, a minimum distance of 150 to 200 meters must be maintained between speed signs and measuring devices, unless they are dangerous areas or schools. Deviations can be expected here.
The installation and operation of speed cameras is strictly regulated: only trained personnel are allowed to use the measuring devices, and there are strict specifications for technical testing. The camouflage of the measuring devices also varies from state to state. In Bavaria, for example, natural camouflage is allowed, but artificial camouflage is not.
Legal framework
Another important point: Road users have the opportunity to object to a fine if the measurement takes place in an inadmissible location or if the device is operated incorrectly. This ensures a certain degree of legal certainty and transparency when dealing with speed checks.
The coming days not only offer an opportunity for increased road safety, but also for all drivers to become aware of their own speed once again. So if you don't want to have expensive fun in the form of a fine, it's better to take your foot off the gas - especially at the announced checkpoints.
