Green candidate election in Bad Orb: Be there on October 30th!
On Thursday, October 30, 2025, the local branch of BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN Bad Orb invites you to an exciting event. From 7:30 p.m., interested parties will meet at Marktplatz 9, 63619 Bad Orb to take part in drawing up the list for the 2026 local elections. On this evening, not only will the candidates for the green list be elected, but the draft election program will also be presented. Citizens are cordially invited to find out more and, if necessary, to run for a mandate themselves. As Vorsprung Online reports, this is intended to be an open forum for all those involved.
In this country and beyond, the Greens are currently pulling out all the stops to prepare well for the 2026 local election campaign. Preparations are starting now and should be completed by winter. All over Bavaria, local and district associations are looking for suitable staff in order to put together a colorful and representative list. Participation in this initiative is independent of existing membership in the Green Party, which makes it easier to get involved. This openness is a step that Green Lower Franconia particularly emphasizes.
The issues of the Greens
In the upcoming elections, the Greens have a number of key issues at the forefront. These include, among others:
- Starkes Miteinander und mehr Frauen in Verantwortung
- Nachhaltige Haushaltspolitik für leistungsfähige Kommunen
- Vielfalt beim Wohnen
- Verlässliche Bildung und Unterstützung für Familien
- Zukunftsfähige Wirtschaft und Energieversorgung vor Ort
- Mobilität, die zuverlässig, bequem und günstig ist
- Weitsicht im Umgang mit der Klimakrise
- Gesundheit und wohnortnahe Pflege
- Politik, die die Bürger*innen anhört
Various educational opportunities are provided to support candidates. Workshops on strategic campaigning, alliances and fundraising are just some of the topics covered. The GRIBS database acts as an advice center for elected officials and offers valuable tips for council work. If you have any questions, interested people can contact the contact points of Andrea Rauch and Tobias Hobmaier, as listed under Green Lower Bavaria.
Another important point is the promotion of equality. With the aim of increasing the proportion of women in mandates, a women's quota is being introduced, which already accounts for 50% of the Green mandates in Bavarian municipal councils. Compared to the total number of mandates in Bavaria, where only 22% are held by women, the Greens demonstrate a good knack for equality here.
The event in Bad Orb not only offers the opportunity to get involved, but is also a sign of strong and diverse cooperation. Commitment is required because only together can positive change be brought about!
