Pentecost tournament in Wiesbaden 2026 is canceled due to ground work!
The long-awaited Pentecost tournament in the Biebrich Castle Park in Wiesbaden has to be canceled in 2026. This sad announcement comes from the President of the Wiesbaden Riding and Driving Club (WRFC), Kristina Dyckerhoff, who confirmed the decision after intensive discussions on the board. The reason for the cancellation is the complete renovation of the jumping arena, which is necessary due to the ground being heavily used in recent years. hessenschau.de describes that the ground work will not be completed by Whitsun 2026, although all the necessary approvals have now been received.
Those responsible initially even considered organizing the tournament without the jumping part. Ultimately, however, the decision was made that this would not be in keeping with the tradition and quality of the festival. The club has decided to use the time until the next Whitsun tournament to develop a new and fresh sporting concept. In 2027 there will also be celebrations for the WRFC's 100th anniversary.
Support and delays in implementation
The city of Wiesbaden and the state of Hesse have pledged their financial support for the renovation project in order to ensure that the jumping arena shines again in its full splendor in the future. Unfortunately, the approval processes with the relevant authorities took longer than expected, which had a significant impact on the schedule. The WRFC regrets the inconvenience caused by these delays but is confident that once the work is completed the project will ensure a high quality event.
This means that the 2027 Whitsun tournament remains a real highlight in the club's calendar, with all the disciplines that spectators love: dressage, jumping, vaulting and eventing. The tried and tested Horse Night, which is part of the supporting program, will also remain a highlight.
