Pure culture: Alsfeld Culture Days start with a spectacular program!

Things will be colorful again in Alsfeld next September: the seventh edition of the Alsfeld Culture Days will take place from September 4th to 21st, 2025. During this special cultural highlight, which runs every two to three years, the city is transformed into a cultural metropolis for 18 days.

Almost 50 events are on the program. Lectures, readings and musical performances from various genres, including rap and jazz, are planned. A special highlight is the start with a concert by the Axel-Kaapke Trio on September 4th. There will also be art workshops, creative workshops and a stumbling block laying with Gunter Demnig. As always, the focus is on promoting art, music, education and community.

Cultural diversity and opportunities to participate

The Alsfeld Culture Days are not only a showcase for creativity, but also a call to the community to get involved. Mayor Stephan Paule has taken over the patronage and the organizing team is urgently looking for more helpers. Walter Windisch-Laube, the chairman of the Cultural Days Association, emphasizes that it is not a requirement to take part in all events. “The goal is to relieve the burden on those active,” says Windisch-Laube. The last edition already hosted over thirty high-profile events and the organization requires a lot of logistics, including bookings, sponsorship and technical equipment.

Tanja Gremmel from the organization team is optimistic and aims to motivate many people to get involved. Further details about participation will be given at an information event on April 15th at 7 p.m. in the music school. Culture right in the heart of Hesse

The Alsfeld Cultural Days are an integral part of cultural life and are in the context of larger events such as Bayreuth Festival or that Beethoven Festival Bonn. While similar events are often known nationally, the culture days in Alsfeld focus on regionality and community. Access to most events is free, but donations are welcome to help maintain the numerous offerings in the future.

Advance sales for the paid events are scheduled to start at the end of July.
