Seven students with a top grade of 1.0: Festival week at Schwalmgymnasium!

An exciting chapter was concluded last week at the Schwalmgymnasium in Schwalmstadt-Treysa: 85 students successfully passed their Abitur. This achievement will be recognized with a ceremonial presentation of certificates that will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Before that, there will be a high school graduation service on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 7 p.m. in the Treysa town church to give the graduates a fitting farewell. The big graduation will finally be celebrated on Friday, July 4th, 2025, in the Willingshausen meeting hall.

Particularly pleasing: 30 graduates were able to achieve an average grade of one before the decimal point. These include seven outstanding students who achieved the top grade of 1.0. These are:

  • Emily Berg
  • Hanna Katrin Busch
  • Theresa Charlotte Körner
  • Emily Lemke
  • Elisa Manz
  • Jakob Schwalm
  • Catalina Walde

Year average and special achievements

The average Abitur grade for the year is 2.09, which is a very respectable achievement considering the current education statistics in Germany. Last year, the Abitur class did not have the opportunity to take their Abitur due to the change from eight to nine years of high school. The school management, led by Mario Cimiotti, emphasizes the diversity of the school system and emphasizes the broad knowledge base of the graduates. Headmaster Cimiotti and head of studies Dr. Michael Funke presented the certificates to the year, which was ceremoniously farewelled with 63 high school graduates in the Treysa festival hall.

Nils Tettschlag, the class representative, took the opportunity to criticize the challenges of digitalization in the education system. His announcement was well received by those present, who are aware that the education system still has potential for improvement. Students who excelled in various subjects were also recognized for their special achievements, and the group participants in the choir and their social commitment were also particularly praised.

A look into the future

At a time when education and its quality are more in focus than ever, this year's graduates demonstrate the diverse opportunities that the education system offers. The educational server shows that such statistics are important, not only to evaluate individual performance, but also to continually find new ways to further develop the system. In contrast, the 2024 Social Report points out the need for careful consideration of educational data in order to further increase quality standards in schools.

The future looks full of possibilities for Schwalmgymnasium graduates, and as the school management rightly says, it is important to always keep both your own needs and commitment to others in mind. Here's to an exciting time after graduating from high school!
