Hessian superiority: Soccer Academy Kassel wins tournament in Holtensen!
Last Saturday, Holtensen was all about football, as the JFV West Göttingen F youth tournament was held there. With ten participants, the tournament was not only well attended but also excellently organized. The little kickers showed their skills on the pitch, and the result was Hessian superiority, as GoeKick reports. At the top of the podium were the Hessians, who took the first three places, while JFV West Göttingen took fourth place as the best team in the region.
The competition, which was held on the occasion of the youth support association's 15th birthday, had the illustrious name “Commerzbank Champions Clash”. The preliminary round took place on two small fields in parallel groups. KSV Baunatal prevailed in Group A and overtook JFV West Göttingen, while Eintracht Baunatal left Soccer Academy Kassel behind in Group B.
Exciting games and close decisions
The semi-finals were exciting: Eintracht Baunatal met JFV West Göttingen and won 2-1. In the second semi-final there was a dramatic penalty shoot-out, which the Soccer Academy Kassel won. In the game for third place, JFV West Göttingen suffered another defeat, this time 1:3 against KSV Baunatal. The JFV West didn't make it onto the podium, but the performance shown was decent.
In the final, the Soccer Academy Kassel took off their hat with a clear 3-0 victory over Eintracht Baunatal. In the preliminary round, Eintracht Baunatal had already won against the Soccer Academy 3-2, but the final saw a different picture. It's a shame that not the entire region's team was on the podium, but every participant received a trophy and could go home proud.
Culinary and awards
The tournament was not only a sporting success, the spectators were also offered a lot from a culinary point of view. The gastronomic offering offered delicious food and ensured that both the young footballers and the spectators were well looked after. Praise goes to the organizers and the numerous helpers who made this event a successful experience.
But it's not just in Holtensen that people are working hard on the future of football. The support of youth players is also being examined as part of a new joint study by FIFA and the International Center for Sports Sciences (CIES). This study shows how important it is to further professionalize the organization of youth football competitions and to develop a common standardization process in order to secure the future of football worldwide. Findings from forums and historical case studies from Mali and Denmark were incorporated, as Inside FIFA reports.
The next events are already coming up and exciting challenges await the young talents, such as the regular games of JFV West Göttingen, including the upcoming clash with SVG Göttingen and SG Reinhardshagen/Bonaforth. It will be exciting to see how the boys will do in the second half of the season, especially after they recently demonstrated their skills with a solid 3-0 away win against JSG Leine-Friedland, as JFV West Göttingen reports.
