FC Giessen fought for a sensational 4-3 win in stoppage time!

The 345 spectators were treated to an exciting football spectacle on October 12, 2025 in the Waldstadion when FC Gießen played against KSV Baunatal in the Hessenliga. After a hectic game, coach Michael Fink's team was able to achieve a dramatic 4-3 victory, which was decided in the last minute.

At the start of the game, things weren't looking good for Giessen. Egli Milloshaj gave the guests from Baunatal a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute. It took Giessen a few minutes to get into the game, but Tolga Duran equalized in the 36th minute. The celebration was short-lived, however, as Serkan Karakoc made it 2-1 for Baunatal in the 38th minute. However, the Giesseners, who had to do without Davide Itter, who was injured at short notice, did not let themselves be defeated and fought to make it 2-2 with a goal from Mirco Geisler in the 46th minute.

A drama until the final minute

The game turned into a real thriller when Egli Milloshaj scored again in the 50th minute and gave Baunatal a 3-2 lead. But Giessen wasn't willing to give up that afternoon. Can Karakas equalized in the 69th minute. Giessen coach Michael Fink noted after the game that the team was making progress but needed to work on defensive stability. Despite the difficulties in the first half and several uncertainties with Baunatal goalkeeper Lukas Berger, the Gießen team kept their nerve.

The big finale then followed in the 92nd minute when Samir Gegg scored the winning goal and made the Giessen supporters cheer. “This victory gives us a boost!” said a delighted Fink after the game. It was a win that should not only boost the table, but also the team's self-confidence.

A look at the table

With this victory, FC Gießen reduced the gap to Baunatal to just three points and remained in the race for the top places in the table. In the current season, Giessen's form curve is clearly pointing upwards after a weaker start. Giessen recently celebrated a clear 4-0 win against Baunatal when Dominik Rummel scored two goals and Martin Mihaylov and Michael Fink also scored. The coaches who motivate and guide the team have a good hand.

The next games will be crucial for FC Gießen to continue the positive trend. It remains to be seen how the team will respond to the challenges of the coming weeks and whether they can maintain their newfound stability in defense.

What's next for the Hessians? What is now needed is mental strength to take the next steps and confirm the good performance in the coming games! The goal is clear: the people of Giessen want to aim high this season.
