Boris Rhein starts a painting competition: children design Christmas cards!
A colorful spectacle of creativity: Prime Minister Boris Rhein recently launched a painting competition for Christmas cards. The Hessian State Chancellery launched this competition on Thursday, which is aimed specifically at all primary school children in Hesse. Here the little artists can show their imaginative side and, above all, bring joy and heart into their drawings. Rhein describes the submissions as impressive and full of colorful ideas that could capture the magic of the Christmas season. Pictures may be submitted and can be sent by email to the State Chancellery. Even if there are no non-cash prizes, the winners receive thanks and recognition from readers, a small motivation that awakens their ambition.
The competition was met with great interest: around 115 works were submitted, and the results were as diverse as the young artists themselves. Three outstanding works were ultimately selected. The winners are:
- Sara (10 Jahre) aus Gustavsburg, Landkreis Groß-Gerau
- Sonja (8 Jahre) aus Zwingenberg, Landkreis Bergstraße
- Felix (7 Jahre) aus Hohenahr, Lahn-Dill-Kreis
The creative works of the winners
The selected Christmas cards show different motifs of Christmas trees that come into their own in different environments.
Prime Minister Rhine was enthusiastic about the children's creative achievements and highlighted the many beautiful pictures that perfectly capture the contemplative atmosphere of the Advent season. The heart winners were the focus of a small celebration where, in addition to personal gifts, they were able to present their works of art in the form of cards. These cards will be sent to people from politics, business, church and culture in the coming weeks - a nice gesture that will ensure that the little artists will also be remembered by the “big ones”.
But the Christmas card painting competition is not the only creative project in Hesse. The Academy for Innovative Education and Management (aim) has also launched a call to encourage primary school classes to take part in its 2024 Christmas card competition. And here goes: Every class can submit a Christmas card! There are no limits to creativity - painting, drawing, cutting and gluing, everything is allowed. A jury will select the most beautiful motif, and the winning class will even receive an experience prize. The cards can then be used as a print template for aim's Christmas greetings. This tradition contributes to a vibrant school culture and promotes the creativity of the children in our schools.
aim's Christmas card competition also has clear guidelines: the card should have the dimensions of DIN long (closed 105 x 210 mm). The deadline for submitting the designs is October 30, 2024. Here, too, participation is limited to students in grades 1 to 4, so that the young artists can actively participate in the creative process.
Whether at the Hessian State Chancellery competition or at aim, it is clear that the young young artists bring a breath of fresh air and bright colors to the Christmas season.
