TransPak celebrates 50 years: an anniversary dedicated to sustainability!

TransPak, a company with deep roots in the logistics industry, has celebrated its 50th anniversary. The celebration took place near the new central warehouse in Solms-Mittelbiel and around 400 guests, including employees and customers, were present. Managing director Andreas Ortwein took the opportunity to present a Red Devils jersey with the number 50 on the back, and among the guests of honor were the company founder and supervisory board Dieter Gaul as well as the board members Markus Jürgens and Tobias Wenninger, as EC-BN reports.

But what makes TransPak so special? The company focuses on sustainability and environmental protection, which are firmly anchored in the company guidelines. TransPak has an environmental management system that is certified according to DIN EN ISO 14001. The company has been cooperating with DPD for CO2-neutral parcel delivery since 2012 and has implemented numerous measures to reduce its CO2 footprint. This includes a modern truck fleet and the use of electric vehicles for short distances and company trips, as can be found on TransPak.

Sustainable innovations and commitments

Current environmental regulations are of course complied with, and the company uses its own electric charging stations for visitors and its own vehicle fleet. The packaging materials are also well thought out: TransPak uses paper tape and thread-reinforced wet tape and has optimized route planning to avoid empty trips and to combine return trips with pickups. This means delivery routes remain short – a win-win for all parties.

In addition, with a comprehensive catalog of measures, TransPak shows that environmental protection is not an empty promise. This includes switching to 100% recyclable or compostable products. Supporting regional beekeepers and tree planting campaigns run by the “Company Forest” foundation is also part of the corporate philosophy.

The look into the future

At a time when over 100 billion packages are shipped worldwide annually and the logistics industry contributes heavily to CO2 emissions, TransPak has taken big steps towards sustainability. According to Fraunhofer IML, logistical processes are responsible for up to 11% of global emissions. The company sees it as one of its most important tasks to reduce emissions in logistics processes and conserve resources. Innovative technologies and clear solutions are urgently needed as climate change affects us all.

TransPak has not only formulated sustainability goals, but also created concrete measures to achieve them. The use of LED lights to save electricity or the installation of charging stations for electric vehicles at the new central warehouse in Solms are just a few examples of how the company wants to minimize its ecological footprint.

With this anniversary, TransPak not only celebrates the successes of the last 50 years, but also sends a strong signal for a responsible future in the logistics industry. It turns out that sustainability and entrepreneurial success can go hand in hand.
