The federal government's timber construction initiative of 2023 has clear goals: climate- and resource-saving construction should be promoted. A large number of competitions and funding such as the national HolzbauPlus 2025/26 competition with prize money of 50,000 euros for climate-friendly construction projects underline the trend towards focusing on wood as a building material. Timber construction enables shorter construction phases and helps reduce land consumption - a real benefit for the environment.
