Sport, fun and community: Hessentag 2023 in Bad Vilbel!

In a few days the time has come: This year's Hessentag, the 60th in its history, begins on June 13th in Bad Vilbel in the Wetteraukreis and goes until June 22nd. The Hessentag was launched more than 60 years ago to strengthen the feeling of togetherness of the population. Around 7,400 clubs in Hesse contribute to the diversity and the common good in the region, and they will also play a central role this year. A highlight will be the "Treffpunkt Hessen", which was launched by the State Sports Association Hesse (LSBH). Here the Wetterau Sportskreis presents itself with its “Hesse's Festival des Sports”. In the castle park, adjacent to the broadcast building of HIT Radio FFH, visitors can look forward to a varied program. Among other things, the Hessian Ski Association will be on site with its own ski jump and offer information about its activities. There are also all-day offers such as a roller slide, XXL football table footballer, soccer golf and many other attractions that make the heart of every sports enthusiast beat faster.

What can visit visitors in detail? The sports group will present various sports on the first weekends, including backfit, Ultimate Frisbee, Karate and Zumba. There is also a lot for the little ones: children's gymnastics course, clown demonstrations and dance groups provide entertainment. The program is rounded off by a "turn warrior" event that offers a meeting from gymnastics and ninja sports and takes place daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., as the State Sportbund Hessen reports.

Special attention is also paid to the fitness tests that are carried out during the festival. On June 16, all interested parties can take part in an everyday fitness test that consists of six exercises, and on the 19th the Hesse Olympic base offers a bum measurement. There are tips on the right nutrition in sports on June 20, and the last weekend is all about movement and fun, including a fitness saving course with devices for all age groups.

The Hessentag thus has something ready for every age group, whether young or old, and regardless of denominations or social classes. "Sport has a connecting force," emphasizes Jörg K. Wulf, chairman of the Wetterau sports district. Also this year the festival will shine with an extensive program that not only includes sport but also a socio -top theme and invites you to discuss discussions.

With around 1,000 program items, the Hessentag is considered the largest and oldest state festival in Germany. In the special show "Nature on the trail", numerous exhibitors focus on natural livelihoods and domestic products. The cultural offer also leaves nothing to be desired, with fairy tale and story world, readings by children's book authors as well as live broadcasts from the HR meeting and large concerts in the Hessentags Arena.
