Sport, fun and community: Hessentag 2023 in Bad Vilbel!
In just a few days the time has come: This year's Hessentag, the 60th in its history, begins on June 13th in Bad Vilbel in the Wetteraukreis and runs until June 22nd. The Hessentag was created more than 60 years ago to strengthen the population's sense of togetherness. Around 7,400 clubs in Hesse contribute to diversity and the common good in the region, and they will also play a central role this year. That's what she reports Upper Hessian newspaper about the numerous offers and demonstrations that are planned.
A highlight will be the “Meeting Point Hessen”, which was launched by the State Sports Association of Hesse (lsbh). The Wetterau sports district presents itself here with its “Hesse Festival of Sports”. In the Burgpark, adjacent to the HIT RADIO FFH broadcasting building, visitors can look forward to a varied program. Among other things, the Hessian Ski Association will be on site with its own ski jump and will offer information about its activities. There are also all-day offers such as a roller slide, XXL football table football, football golf and many other attractions that will make the heart of every sports enthusiast beat faster.
Variety of sports offerings
What can visitors expect in detail? The sports group will present various sports on the first weekends, including back fitness, ultimate frisbee, karate and Zumba. There's also a lot for the little ones: children's gymnastics courses, clown performances and dance groups provide entertainment. The program is rounded off by a “Turn Warrior” event, which offers a gathering of gymnastics and ninja sports and takes place daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m Hesse State Sports Association reported.
Special attention is also paid to the fitness tests carried out during the festival. On June 16th, anyone interested can take part in an everyday fitness test, which consists of six exercises, and on the 19th, the Hesse Olympic Training Center will offer a jumping strength measurement. Tips on proper nutrition while exercising will be available on June 20th, and the final weekend will be all about exercise and fun, including a fitness course with equipment for all ages.
A celebration for everyone
The Hessentag therefore has something in store for every age group, whether young or old, and regardless of denominations or social classes. “Sport has a unifying power,” emphasizes Jörg K. Wulf, chairman of the Wetterau sports district. This year the festival will once again shine with an extensive program that includes not only sport, but also social topics and invites you to join in the discussion with panel discussions.
With around 1,000 program items, Hessentag is considered the largest and oldest state festival in Germany. In the special show “On the Trail of Nature”, numerous exhibitors focus on natural resources and local products. The cultural offering also leaves nothing to be desired, with a world of fairy tales and stories, readings by children's book authors as well as live broadcasts from the hr-Treff and large concerts in the Hessentags-Arena.
Be there and experience the diversity of Hessentag, which once again brings the people of Hesse together. This is an opportunity not to be missed!
