Street theater festival Till the Sky delights Hanau on August 14th!
On Saturday, August 14, 2025, the time had finally come: the street theater festival “Till the Sky” celebrated its premiere in Hanau. On this day, the pedestrian zone was transformed into a dazzling open-air stage on which artistic theater art, magical characters and bizarre performances enchanted the atmosphere. From 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., visitors were able to enjoy a varied program that had something to offer for young and old. Hanau Marketing GmbH (HMG), in collaboration with various clubs, put together an exciting supporting program that lasted from August 14th to 17th.
The venues stretched across the Stadthof, Freiheitsplatz and the Old Town Market. Performances by comedy artist Chriss Breuning, the magic revue “Sideshow Charlatans” and the trampoline acrobat Aramelo provided the best entertainment. The dance virtuosos Mr. and Mrs. Twistly were also able to captivate the audience with their energy. Between the stages there were interactive artists and walk acts who strolled through the streets and amazed passers-by.
Diverse events
The Augustinchen playmobile in particular, which offered attractions with artistic equipment at Freiheitsplatz, captivated younger visitors. There were also a variety of other activities to discover in the coming days. On Thursday, August 12th, the HSG Hanau presented its handball team at 6 p.m., accompanied by musical performances. The “Ladies in Business” event on Friday, August 13th turned out to be a real highlight. From 5 p.m. there was a sales market in the Fronhof with exciting lectures and live music.
Another interesting event in the program was the bingo round on Thursday evening, which took place in the Fronhof from 7 p.m. Those interested in nature could take part in a bat tour on Campo Pond on Saturday, August 14th – an experience for the whole family.
A festival for the whole family
Of course, the creative spirits among the visitors were not forgotten: a keychain making workshop took place in the Agora Chromata studio on Sunday, August 15th. First graders were also able to look forward to free school bags, which were distributed at the customer information forum from Friday, August 13th. An interactive “farm” exhibition from Playmobil in the Forum Hanau was also waiting to be discovered.
Musical accompaniment was not neglected at the summer concert in the amphitheater. The special highlights included the additional concert by the band BAP on Thursday, August 12th, and the orchestra “The Music of Hans Zimmer and Others” on Saturday evening. On Sunday, August 15th, the festival ended with a tribute concert to “ABBA Night”.
The diverse program was rounded off by a beer garden festival organized by TSV 1860 Hanau from Friday to Sunday, which had numerous offers for all age groups. The jazz event “Humblo” with Jacky Bastek on Friday in the Licht- und Luftbad Hanau was also very well received. A music picnic on Sunday in the Olof Palme House ensured a relaxed end.
The visitors were enthusiastic about the range of performances and the open atmosphere. Information about all events and ticket options can be found on the City of Hanau website. After such a successful start, one can only hope that the “Till the Sky” festival will continue to be an integral part of the summer calendar in Hanau in the future.
