Young person injured after violent act in front of the Lindenau swimming pool in Hanau!
In Hanau, a 15-year-old boy was slightly injured in an altercation in front of the Lindenau swimming pool on Saturday evening. At 7:50 p.m., police received an emergency call and found the teenager with a laceration to his head. This was the result of a blow caused by an unknown person. The boy had to be taken to hospital for further treatment. The police have already started a call for witnesses and are asking for information by calling 06181 100-120. Such incidents repeatedly raise questions about the safety of young people, especially in the current discussion about youth violence, which has reached an all-time high in Germany. According to Statista, there were around 13,800 cases of youth violence in 2024, which is more than twice as many as in 2016.
But there are always unpleasant incidents not only in Hanau, but also in the surrounding area. A few days ago, a gray Audi TT ended up in a ditch in Maintal. The driver of a black Audi A4 performed a risky overtaking maneuver that led to the accident. The incident occurred on Wednesday at 3:40 p.m. and caused damage of around 1,000 euros. Here too, the police are investigating and are looking for witnesses using the same number as in Hanau.
Safety concerns everyone
However, the horror reports don't stop. In Großkrotzenburg there was a fire in a ground floor apartment on Schubertstrasse around 8 a.m. on Monday morning. A 66-year-old woman was injured and had to be taken to hospital. Fortunately, the other residents remained unharmed while the criminal police are now investigating the cause of the fire.
In Bad Orb, a black Mini Cooper was damaged in a parking lot between Friday, 3:20 p.m. and 4:10 p.m. The resulting damage amounts to around 2,500 euros. Here too, the public is asked for information; the Bad Orb police can be reached on 060552 9148-0.
The increase in youth crime and violent conflicts in Germany is also an issue in society. Psychological stress, such as that caused by the Corona measures, can be the reasons for this development. According to Statista, the proportion of male young people among the suspects is particularly high: almost three quarters of the young suspects are male. The discussion about the application of criminal law to children under the age of 14 is also becoming increasingly louder, while the call for increased prevention in child and youth welfare is becoming increasingly important.
While such issues become more and more relevant, security in our cities and our squares remains an ongoing concern. It is up to all of us to remain vigilant and keep our eyes open to report abuses and improve coexistence.
