ÖDP candidate Rößler calls for clear solutions to climate and education issues
As part of the upcoming state election in the Rhineland-Palatinate constituency 31, Ingelheim am Rhein, the Ecological Democratic Party (ÖDP) has presented its direct candidate: Andreas Rößler. The environmental protection engineer from Münster-Sarmsheim brings his expertise and experience as parliamentary group leader of the ÖDP/Left in the Mainz-Bingen district council and would like to tackle the important issues of the future. According to journal-lokal.de, he is convinced that the sustainable use of resources and citizen participation are central points for the acceptance of energy and environmental concepts.
Rößler emphasizes that citizens must be actively involved in decisions in order to create acceptance and benefit from projects. For him, sustainability is not just a slogan - his commitment is also reflected in his criticism of the current practices of local authorities. He criticizes the fact that obligations are imposed on many people, while basic freedoms are often restricted. With regard to the energy transition, Rößler demands that the costs of network expansion and electricity storage should not simply be passed on to consumers, as this could result in additional financial burdens.
Environmental protection and education in focus
One of Rößler's central concerns is the socially responsible design of the energy transition. Although he understands the need to reduce CO₂, he warns of possible price increases for consumers. Furthermore, in his political agenda he criticizes the state government's school policy. Here he sees deficits in the students' performance in mathematics, physics and chemistry and emphasizes that class cancellations, outdated teaching methods and bullying must be urgently addressed.
Rößler is convinced that maintaining special schools should be the top priority in order to meet the increasing demand. His experiences on the school board committee support his argument for a permeable and fair education system in Rhineland-Palatinate.
Migration policy and transport concerns
In migration policy, he calls for a differentiated view of the reasons for migration and a limitation that is based on the needs of the labor market. Rößler also has clear ideas when it comes to transport: he is committed to expanding local public transport and better networking between modes of transport. When it comes to digitalization, he expresses skepticism and supports the right to an analogue life, including keeping cash. Abolishing cash is an absolute no-go for him.
With Marcus Eschborn as a replacement candidate, the ÖDP shows that they are running with a strong team in the Ingelheim constituency. It remains to be seen how the voters will decide, but one thing is certain: Andreas Rößler has clear visions and is ready to enter the political debate.
In the coming weeks and months, the ÖDP will do everything in its power to bring its concerns and issues to light - the citizens of Ingelheim am Rhein are also invited to raise their voices and actively participate in the political process.
