The district championships of the youth fire brigades in our region have finally taken place again, but with mixed feelings: only seven of 32 youth fire brigades took part in the competition. The competitions are organized in various disciplines that are held every two years. Teams from five members of the youth fire brigade and an adult who acts as a machine operator compete against each other. Another highlight is the group relay, in which skill and speed are required. Among other things, knots have to be linked and hoses coupled. The 5 × 80-meter fire brigade relay, which harbors various obstacles and is completed in time mode, also ensures tension and challenge. Each team consists of five members and has to cope with fire -fighting tasks. The next big championships will take place in the future. Successful teams from the district championships qualify for the national championships that will take place in 2018.
