Martin's Market in Dieburg: Medieval charm and a huge rush of visitors!
The romantic setting of Dieburg is currently being shaped by an extraordinary event - the 39th St. Martin's Market, which will take place from November 7th to 9th, 2025. How op-online.de reports, you can look forward to a diverse program that will attract tens of thousands of visitors. Market manager Verena Anthofer did everything to make this special occasion an unforgettable experience.
The Martinsmarkt is divided into two exciting areas: The general market part is lively on the market square as well as on Zuckerstrasse and parts of Rheingaustrasse and Steinstrasse. Visitors can expect a variety of food stalls offering all sorts of delicacies. On the other side you will find the medieval market in Fechenbach Park, which invites you to marvel with performers and handicrafts.
A colorful offer for everyone
What is particularly pleasing is the presence of local groups and associations presenting their stands on the market square. In addition, visitors from the twin towns of Aubergenville and Mladá Boleslav are represented with their own stands in the immediate vicinity of the town parish church. On the market square, guests can expect a Ferris wheel and a stage at the town hall fountain, where the music program will get you in the mood for the latest sounds.
On Friday, November 7th, the market opened in a festive atmosphere at 3 p.m. On the following days, guests can look forward to the following: On Saturday, November 8th, the stands will open from 10 a.m., followed by a Sunday start at 11 a.m. The free parking in the city is ideal, as is the recommendation to travel by public bus and train, especially with the RB61 from Dreieich.
Entertainment for young and old
The music program has some highlights in store with the bands Saytensprung and the duo Donnersack im Park. On Sunday evening there will even be a St. Martin's Market concert at 8 p.m. in the town parish church. Admission is free - but donations are very welcome. A special highlight for children is the storyteller, who appears in the park for the first time.
On Sunday, the local history association will also open the historic mill tower to those interested from 2 p.m., while a historic steam train from Darmstadt-Kranichstein to Dieburg will shuttle to passengers three times in the afternoon. Unfortunately there will be no historical coin minting at the town hall fountain this year due to a lack of staff. The St. Martin's geese are also not on offer due to bird flu, which is disappointing for many onlookers.
At the end of the market, there is an extension on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., which allows everyone to get the missing gifts. The Dieburg fire department and the depot are on hand to help organize the market and ensure that everything runs smoothly.
An exciting weekend for the whole family is on offer here - one more reason not to miss the Martinsmarkt in Dieburg!
