Ebersburg-Ried wins at the fire brigade competition in Kassel!
An impressive fire brigade spectacle took place on June 28th in Kassel, in which the Ebersburg-Ried team won the district decision of the Hessian fire service exercise. With an outstanding score of 98.3 percent, they prevailed against 19 other highly motivated teams from the Kassel region. The competition was organized by the Kassel regional council and was part of a system in which the fire service exercises in Hesse take place on three levels- district, district and state level. The top 12 teams have now qualified for the state decision on August 31st in Lorsch, where they can prove their skills again. RP Kassel reports .
The competition included both a theoretical part with 15 questions as well as a practical exercise that was based on a GABC use, i.e. an accident with a hazard exit. Thomas Finis, the trainer, praised the excellent preparation and the high quality of the exams that were demanded to the fire brigade members. It should be emphasized that the Meißner fire brigade also received special praise for the best performance in the theoretical part in this competition, which underlines the importance of training.

The system of fire service exercises
The fire service exercises in Hesse are the key to promoting teamwork and skills of the firefighters. Between the district and district levels, the best teams qualify for the state competitions. These competitions require both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, including the implementation of node exercises. In the event of a tie, the number of the right nodes and the knot time decide on the placement. RP Darmstadt explains the structures of these exercises more detailed.
Overall, the fire brigade competitions in Kassel were a great success, which impressively demonstrated the importance of training and cohesion within the fire brigade community. We can look forward to the next steps of the successfully qualified teams and keep our fingers crossed for the upcoming state decision!
