On Wednesday afternoon, July 16, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred on the L3140 between Lauterbach and Willofs. Two cars collided head-on during an unsuccessful turning maneuver. This incident resulted in a complete closure of the route while fire, police and emergency services were deployed on site to deal with the situation. However, one lane was later reopened, making it easier for traffic to flow. According to reports from the Vogelsberger newspaper Two people were slightly injured and required medical treatment.
According to initial information, the Lauterbach volunteer fire department, fire department center, was mobilized with a total of 15 volunteer forces.
