On Monday, June 17, 2025, there was a traffic accident on the B84 between Hünfeld and Rasdorf involving a white VW Polo and a black Audi. The incident occurred around 5:15 p.m., between the Gehilfersberg parking lot and the entrance to Rasdorf. The accident began when the Audi entered the oncoming lane in a slight right-hand bend and damaged the VW Polo's exterior mirror. However, the driver of the Audi completely ignored the incident and continued driving towards Rasdorf without reporting the accident. The damage caused is around 1000 euros. The Hünfeld police are asking for information to clarify the incident by calling 06652-96580 or via the Hesse police online watchdog.
Another serious traffic accident occurred on Friday morning on the same route, the B84. A 57-year-old driver from the Wartburg district was tragically fatally injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a car. The woman was traveling on the B84 from Neuwirtshaus to Rasdorf when she drove into the oncoming truck, whose 54-year-old driver was slightly injured. The police have not yet been able to determine the exact cause of the accident and the damage amounts to around 60,000 euros. In order to investigate the accident and carry out the rescue work, the B84 had to be completely closed for a certain period of time and traffic was rerouted via Großentaft.
