New course in the Frankenberg district hospital: Bülling takes over the management!
Something is happening at the Frankenberg District Hospital! How 112-magazin.de reported, the management will be taken over by a new person from September 30, 2025. Margarete Janson, the previous managing director, will then close a chapter in her career, while Anne Bülling will take her place. Bülling brings a lot of experience with her, as she is currently the authorized representative and head of human resources at the Korbach City Hospital and has previously worked at the Brother Hospital St. Josef Paderborn and Gesundheit Nordhessen Holding, among others.
An exciting time lies ahead! From August 1, 2025, Bülling will work alongside Janson to ensure a seamless transition. The chairman of the supervisory board, Jürgen van der Horst, is optimistic and emphasizes Bülling's extensive management experience. “The merger process between the clinics in Frankenberg and Korbach is being pushed forward,” says van der Horst. Working groups have already been formed in the coming weeks to work on the design of the new corporate structures.
Health care reform
But that's not all that's going on in Hesse's healthcare system! Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach's hospital reform will come into force on January 1, 2025. The reform should, according to Deutschlandfunk, improve patient care through greater specialization in clinics. The new financing system stipulates that 60% of the remuneration is available for staff, rooms and medical technology. In addition, 40% must be generated by treatment cases, which means that hospitals will depend less on flat rates per case in the future.
The reform aims to strengthen smaller hospitals, particularly in rural areas, by offering outpatient specialist treatment. These steps are primarily intended to help ensure that basic medical care remains secure even in rural areas. However, critics of the reform fear that the financial burden could be passed on to contributors. Currently, around a third of the 1,719 German hospitals have financial problems and many have to fight for their existence.
The challenges of the future
The task for the new managers, especially Anne Bülling, will not only be to take over the clinic, but also to adapt to the new framework conditions of the hospital reform. “We plan to strengthen health care in Frankenberg and the region,” explains Bülling. She will certainly need a good hand in order to successfully master the merger plans and the requirements of the upcoming reform.
An exciting time for the district hospital and its patients! After all, it's not just a change in management, but also an entire system that is changing and will have a lasting impact on the healthcare landscape in the region.
