Rock at the Castle: Anniversary festival delights Bad Arolsen!
A mild summer evening in the castle courtyard of Bad Arolsen: On September 1, 2025, BARock-AG celebrated its tenth anniversary with the “Rock am Schloss” festival. The event attracted rock music fans from near and far and featured a line-up that was impressive. With free entry, the mood among the visitors was great - after all, the basses and guitars rolled on the stage, creating an unforgettable experience.
The four bands that were hired for this special evening ensured diversity. The local band “Golden Sound” kicked things off. It was the members' first big performance after taking part in BARock-AG's instrument workshops. Closely followed by “Skeleton Rock” – a student band from the Ederseeschule Herzhausen, which plays under the direction of Nadine Fingerhut and represents an age group of 10 to 14 years. The guests were invited to celebrate with a mix of well-known rock hits and their own pieces.
One catchy tune after another
The band “GäNgiCh” from Korbach got the crowd singing along with their repertoire of hits from AC/DC to Roberto Grönemeyer and Uwe von Westernhagen. With exciting arrangements and a good mood, they filled the evening with energy and passion. The final highlight of the evening was the headliner band “Dogs on Lead” from Hildesheim. In addition to evergreens from Led Zeppelin and Metallica, they also played their own compositions and provided the grand finale of the evening.
The organization of the event fell into the hands of the BARock-AG management team - consisting of Guido Thoma, Alexa Wild, Gregor Kuwal and Jennifer Konradi. Her enthusiasm for music and commitment to the local cultural scene paid off. Thanks to the support of sponsors and the sale of drinks and food, the festival was not only a musical but also a social celebration for all participants.
An evening of joy
The security forces on site had surprisingly little to do, as the festival visitors were always in a party mood and enjoyed the evening to the fullest. Live music in the open air, delicious food and a family atmosphere – what more could you want? “Rock am Schloss” was proof that Bad Arolsen has a lively music scene and that the solidarity among the bands is strong.
Reflecting the euphoria of the event, the organizers also called for hashtags such as #RockAmSchloss and #BadArolsenRockt to capture the excitement on social media. What is certain is that this evening was not only a celebration of rock music, but also a gathering of the community.
Overall, “Rock am Schloss” was a complete success and makes us look forward to the next few years. We can only hope that BARock-AG will continue to organize such great events in the future that bring both young and old together and showcase the advantages of Bad Arolsen.
