Ziegenhain celebrates its 36th market day: enjoyment, culture and fast-paced racing!

The “Goat Grove at its best” market day celebrated its 36th edition on September 12, 2025. How HNA reported, the event took place on the popular Wiederholdstrasse from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Visitors could look forward to a colorful hustle and bustle with market stalls, numerous demonstrations and varied activities for the whole family.

A highlight of the market day was the art cabinet in the town hall. Talented artists such as Anita Dörrbecker, Marietta Buthmann and many others showed their works there. Particularly noteworthy is the return of Erika Dietz, who after 15 years presented a stand with her beautiful linen work and Schwalm embroidery. The culinary offerings, including the popular Weber grill promotion with modern grilling techniques, were also very popular with guests.

A varied program for young and old

There was an extensive program for the little visitors. Climbing, crafts and a children's carousel made faces smile. The band “Acousticline” also provided musical entertainment, while the Röllshausen traditional costume group earned lots of applause with a colorful dance performance.

Another highlight of the event was the cycle kart race, which took place on the grounds of the China Park. These are small, home-made vehicles that are based on racing cars from the 1920s to 1940s. The vehicles reach speeds of up to 70 km/h and are equipped with a small four-stroke engine. Frank Wolters from Kleve was one of the drivers and builders of these unique karts, which only exist 20 times in Germany. The event took place on September 6th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and piqued the interest of many technology enthusiasts who were able to ask questions about the vehicles, such as WLZ reported.

Market day as an important part of regional culture

The market day in Ziegenhain, organized by the Ziegenhain trade and tourism association in collaboration with the city administration, is not only a culinary but also a cultural highlight of the region. The variety of stands on offer and the participation of local actors, such as the Röllshausen traditional costume group and the art association, show how colorful local life is and that tradition and modernity flow harmoniously together here.

With such a successful event like the “Goat Grove at its Finest” market day, tradition and a sense of community are kept alive in the region. A big thank you goes to everyone involved who made this special day possible!
