An attempted theft in Vellmar caused a stir on Thursday. A 37-year-old man from Kassel, accompanied by an accomplice, wanted to steal goods worth around 1,200 euros from a discount store. This information is reported by FFH about the failed operation that took place at around 5:40 p.m.
Full of enthusiasm, the perpetrators loaded the shopping trolley they had brought with them and a shopping cart with expensive coffees and sweets. But when they left the market without paying, an unexpected incident occurred. An attentive employee and a brave customer stood in the way of the perpetrators to prevent them from escaping.
Courageous intervention by the employee
The employee, who obviously had a good sense of justice, immediately alerted the police and resolutely confronted the thieves. She suffered minor injuries to her arms. Despite the scuffle, in which the perpetrators initially tried to load their loot into a waiting car, they managed to escape on foot as soon as the police were informed of the situation by the alarm. They left the car at the crime scene, which is now used as evidence.
However, approximately 30 minutes after the incident, the 37-year-old perpetrator returned to the abandoned vehicle and was finally arrested by a patrol from the North Precinct. Unfortunately, his accomplice managed to escape; Intensive searches were unsuccessful, reports Presseportal.
