Honorable Farewell: Fritz-Cost-Ring inaugurated in Petterweil!

In Petterweil in the picturesque Petterweil, the community recently celebrated the ceremonial inauguration of the new Fritz-Cost ring. This street, which was created in the new development area "north of the Fuchslöcher", appreciates the former innkeeper Fritz Cost, whose life's work and commitment to the village community should not be forgotten. Over 100 citizens, including many young faces included, came to the inauguration ceremony, which was musically framed by an ensemble of the city chapel.

The decision in honor of Fritz Cost, born in 1923 in Alte Heerstrasse and part of the Petterweiler history since 1649, fell through a survey among the residents. The mayor Dennis Vesper had initiated the survey for finding the name, in which 30 to 40 suggestions were submitted by the Petterlerners. Ultimately, Fritz Cost got the most votes, which shows how much he was valued in the community. The name Fritz-Cost-Ring is therefore not only a street naming, but also a sign of appreciation for a man who shaped village life for decades. Fritz Costs Legacy

Fritz Cost took over the "Zur Rose" inn in 1958, which quickly developed into the center of the village community. Not only social gatherings took place here, a party service was also offered and the village disco "Contra" celebrated its home here from 1968. Gisela Cost, the widow of Fritz Cost, expressed its pride during the celebration and emphasized the liveliness of the new residential area. Her wish is that the memory of her late man lives on in the community. The legend sign that Mayor Guido Rahn presented shows the extraordinary meaning of Fritz Cost for Petterweil.
