Friedberg is celebrating: Golf men are promoted to the 2nd Hessen League!
The men's team in the 65 age group of the Friedberg Golf Club celebrated a great success in their last away game at the Altenstadt Golf Club. With a whopping 120 Stableford points, the team under the leadership of Captain Jürgen Kubierschky secured the championship title of the 3rd Hessenliga and thus early promotion to the 2nd Hessenliga North. This is an impressive result that demonstrates the continuity and strength of the team FNP reported.
Particularly noteworthy are the total of 358 Stableford points that the Friedberg team collected this season. They have 12 points, which means they are 5 points ahead of second place, GC Altenstadt, who have achieved 287 Stableford points so far. This shows that the team has consistently delivered strong performances, especially with the clear victories in the home game in May and at the Weilrod Golf Club at the beginning of June.
Player of the season in the spotlight
A team like this cannot shine without outstanding performances from its players. For this reason, the players of the season were placed at the top of the recognition list: Peter Bacia, Dieter Christian, Toni Jung, Jürgen Kubierschky, Volker Kuhl, Yoan-Long Lee, Ivan Papic, Mathias Collmann and Hans-Georg Veith all played their part in the triumphant season.
While the last day of the league game is approaching on August 20th at the Bad Vilbel Golf Club, where the team wants to further consolidate its impressive record, the anticipation of the match provides additional motivation. Bad Vilbel has also performed well this season and is in third place in the table.
A look at the other teams
There are also other exciting developments in the context of the 65 age group. The Hofgut Golfpark has always wanted its AK-65 golfers to ensure that the players do not lose their passion for golf despite the reserved weather - light snowfall and fine drizzle. The atmosphere there is characterized not only by the inviting windows, but also by the smoking fireplace and the tempting scent of gingerbread and chestnuts, like the Golf park website describes.
The AK-65 men's team played under Captain Michael Luh in the summer of 2021 and reached first place in the 5th Hessenliga North. This team strength shows that the golfers meet regularly and also enjoy winter get-togethers, such as a 9-hole scramble organized by the men AK65.
The challenges and successes in the various leagues create an exciting framework for the golf season in Hesse. So it's no wonder that the players and teams are excited about their upcoming competitions. Further information about the AK-65 teams can be found on the websites of the respective clubs, for example on hofhausen.golf.
