Butzbach celebrates: Old Town Festival with music and family activities from September 5th to 7th!
A highlight in the city of Butzbach's event calendar is just around the corner: from September 5th to 7th, 2025, the historic market square will be the venue for the 42nd Butzbach Old Town Festival. The festival promises a weekend full of live music, tasty culinary specialties and exciting family activities. The festival opens on Friday at 5:00 p.m. with the sounds of the Butzbach fire brigade music, followed by the official opening by Mayor Sascha Huber, which is celebrated with a draft beer tapping at 6:30 p.m. The city cycling awards ceremony will also take place during this opening.
On Saturday evening and Sunday, various bands will provide musical accompaniment to the festival, while the Wettertal brass band will perform on Sunday. Special attention is paid to children and youth offerings. The “Fair Play Sport” event will take place on Saturday, where 12 to 16 year olds can compete in a football and handball tournament. Registrations for this are possible at the Tourist Information until September 1st, 2025. Creative programs also await the youngest festival visitors, such as wood turning with Benjamin Oertel and the “Every Child is an Artist” campaign with Christin Löbrich.
Culinary delights and activities for the whole family
On Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the weekly market on Kirchplatz invites you to try regional delicacies and be inspired by the offers from local traders. And with a varied musical program, the Old Town Festival will be a feast for all the senses. Opening hours are Fridays from 5:00 p.m. to midnight, Saturdays from 2:00 p.m. to midnight and Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Another highlight will be the “Blue Light” program on Sunday, where the fire brigade, Maltese and police will offer exciting insights into their work. The city of Butzbach is hoping for numerous visitors and good weather to celebrate the festival properly.
In a completely different world, but also the focus of attention, is Apple's new streaming offer. As Collider reports, the tech giant recently hosted a launch event reminiscent of HBO's famous live broadcast of the melting of a block of ice. Apple has approached the heated streaming market and will challenge competition from Disney+ and Netflix with the ad-free premium service Apple TV+.
The event featured a variety of new original programming led by well-known personalities such as Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey, leaving a lasting impression on shareholders. Apple aims to become a central platform for streaming subscriptions and plans to build an extensive library of original content that will quickly respond to viewers' needs.
So there is not only a lot to enjoy here in Butzbach - the world of streaming services also remains exciting and varied. We can't wait to see how things develop in the coming months.
