Something is happening again in youth development in the Wetterau district. Manuela Strube, State Secretary in the Hessian Ministry of Labor, Integration, Youth and Social Affairs, recently inquired about the advisory bus of the Wetterau Youth Career Agency (JBA). This bus makes it possible to pick up young people who are in the transition between school and work right where they are - in other words, in their usual environment. This is important because many of them struggle with school or family challenges.
The advice bus was launched three years ago and is now an integral part of the support offered by the JBA, the Wetterau job center and the employment agency. Marion Götz, the district councilor and head of the social affairs department, emphasized the crucial role of the bus in offering young people in difficult life situations new perspectives. One place on the bus is enough for 20 young people, who can receive individual coaching here.
Individual support directly on site
The employees of the Lichtblick association are regularly active at various locations in the Wetterau district to offer young people support where they feel most comfortable. This approach lowers inhibitions and makes first contact easier. This makes the step towards support easier and, above all, more accessible for many young people.
The financing of the offer is secured by funds from the Hessian training and qualification budget as well as by the Wetterau job center. This commitment by public institutions shows once again that supporting young people in the region is taken seriously and that politicians have a good handle on important issues.
