Aggressive Audi driver hits Tesla driver – witnesses wanted!
Last night an unknown perpetrator caused a stir in Offenbach. At around 10 p.m., a passer-by was involved in a conversation and then cheated out of her handbag. Investigators are looking for witnesses who can provide information about the incident. Anyone who has seen anything is asked to call 069 8098-5100. According to reports from Main-Echo, the perpetrator fled towards Schloßstrasse.
But this is not the only incident that concerns the police in the region. Just a few days earlier, on Thursday evening at 8:15 p.m., there was a threatening scene on Federal Highway 486. An 18-year-old Tesla driver and his passenger were harassed by an aggressive Audi driver. The Audi driver, a man aged 50 to 60, flashed his headlights several times, overtook without reason and braked abruptly, creating a dangerous situation on the road. At an intersection after the Langen exit, he got out of his vehicle and hit the Tesla driver in the face before threatening him with a folding knife and then fleeing. The police in Langen are investigating and accepting tips on 06103 9030-0.
Traffic problems and threats
Another safety problem arose on July 8th when an unknown person lost several drywall screws on the Offenbacher Landstrasse. These screws caused two vehicles, a VW and a Mitsubishi, to suffer serious tire damage. Ultimately, several tires had to be changed on both cars, causing damage worth several hundred euros. The police are asking possible witnesses to call 06182 8930-0.
Concerns about road safety are further heightened by a current police investigation in Neu-Isenburg. On Sunday, 56 suspected counterfeit items were seized at a flea market held in a hardware store parking lot. A 31-year-old salesman is suspected of violating trademark law and the investigation is ongoing. The seller's daily income was around 105 euros, while the total value of the original goods is estimated at around 17,000 euros.
Crude behavior on the streets
Another incident, which also occurred yesterday, July 14th, 2025, took place between Saalfeld and Rudolstadt. A 34-year-old Hyundai driver was found to be extremely reckless. At the Kaufland intersection, he forced a 19-year-old BMW driver to stop by braking sharply and then hit his passenger in the face. A police vehicle that happened to be passing by became aware of the altercation, but the Hyundai driver initially fled. It was only possible to stop and check it at the intersection in the direction of Saalemaxx. An alcohol test carried out showed an impressive level of over 1.8 per mille. His driver's license was confiscated and an investigation was launched into traffic coercion and assault. Here too, the police are looking for witnesses who can say something about the driving style of the vehicles involved - the Hyundai i30 and the BMW - at the time in question (information under case number 0180880).
The region is clearly required to deal with a variety of security issues. Citizens are called upon to be vigilant and report any suspicious sightings to make the streets safer.
