In the early morning of June 17, 2025, a fire became a life-saving challenge in a family home in Hain-Gründau, in the Main-Kinzig district. Around 4:45 a.m., a smoke detector made an alarm and informed the two residents who immediately got outdoors. Only the timely warning signal could prevent worse, as Osthessen-News reported.

The residents, a 67-year-old and a 73-year-old, suffered minor injuries while fleeing and there is suspicion of flue gas poisoning. Both were taken to the hospital for further treatment. The fire brigade, which quickly arrived at the scene, fought against the flames that had broken out in the basement of the house, probably near the electrical division.
