Research festival in Gelnhausen: Creative holiday fun for children!

Soon it's time! The summer holidays are just around the corner and this is the perfect time to get creative with the little ones. On June 24, 2025, the adult education center of the educational partner Main-Kinzig GmbH is hosting a research festival in the Bildungshaus in Gelnhausen, Frankfurter Str. 30b. From 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. all parents, children and educational specialists and teachers are cordially invited to take part in a colorful mix of activities.

At this free event, which is supported by well-known institutions such as the Hanau Stadt und Land Bürgerstiftung and the Kreissparkasse Gelnhausen, children can let their creativity run wild by building cardboard houses, making fanfolds and making leather bags. The research festival not only offers the opportunity to work creatively, but also to discover and research together.

A look at anniversary celebrations in the region

Celebrations are also currently taking place in Langenselbold. The folk choir, which is celebrating its 120th anniversary this year, has ventured back onto the stage after the pandemic-related restrictions. On June 16th there was a children's choir singing with the Selbolder Tönchen and the Teenie Singers under the direction of Felix Müller. The 26-year-old conductor not only brings a breath of fresh air to the rehearsals, but also his experience as a pianist and arranger. Müller plans to practice modern songs with the young talents, including a classic by Herbert Grönemeyer – “Children to Power”.

On June 24th, Alexander Franz's 25th anniversary as conductor will be celebrated with a concert in the Klosterberghalle. This program promises a varied musical journey, including hits such as “Mambo” and “It’s Raining Men”. Tickets are available in advance for 15 euros, at the box office for 17 euros, reduced for children up to 14 years for just 5 euros. The folk choir's anniversary year ends with a festive Christmas concert by all groups on December 9th in the Protestant church.

Children's culture for everyone!

Another exciting offer for children and families is available through the Kids Kulturpass initiative. A comprehensive program of music, theater and interactive activities is offered here. The events can be booked throughout Germany and, apart from large festivals, are also available for smaller institutions such as schools and kindergartens. Whether in after-school care facilities, amusement parks or at city festivals – the offerings are as diverse as the target groups. From Advent events to sing-alongs, there are no limits to your imagination!
