Königstein is strengthening itself: New heads for city marketing and the library!

Königstein im Taunus has brought a breath of fresh air into the city administration. With the newly appointed Ivonne Mumm and Jana Beier, two committed employees are now available to advance the city in important areas. Since April, Mumm has been in charge of city marketing and economic development, bringing not only extensive experience from the marketing industry, but also valuable insights from the hotel industry and urban development. Her previous work at the Berlin design hotel Das Stue and her involvement with Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (rbb) underline her diverse skills.

Mumm has set itself clear goals: She wants to initiate innovative projects and make Königstein's city center more lively. City marketing is not just a buzzword, but a crucial player in the municipal structure that helps to actively shape urban development. City marketing sees itself as a seismograph for current trends and future challenges, as CultureLab emphasizes. The challenge lies not only in understanding social trends, but also in linking the interests of the city administration with the needs of the citizens.

New face in the library

But there are not only fresh faces in city marketing. With Jana Beier, the city library has a new director who wants to bring a breath of fresh air to the shelves. As a trained specialist in media and information services with a focus on libraries, Beier plans regular game evenings and puzzle afternoons. She would also like to warmly welcome elementary school classes on tours of the library and expand the event program to strengthen the library as a social meeting place. This will promote social cohesion, as required by the demands of modern city marketing.

Both new employees emphasize the importance of working with citizens and local actors. This is also a central insight from city marketing, as Wikipedia states: It aims to create a positive image of the city and strengthen people's ties to their city.

Key to sustainable urban development

The goals of city marketing are clear: to increase the attractiveness as a business location, place to live and shop as well as a tourist destination and to increase citizen satisfaction. Regional identity and a sense of community are essential to stabilize the population. Reaching different audiences, from residents to potential investors, is more important than ever. Königstein's new direction with Ivonne Mumm and Jana Beier could be exactly the right step into the future. As I said, city marketing has become enormously important in recent decades, and more than 80% of cities with over 10,000 inhabitants now rely on this strategy.

With the vision of promoting a lively and strong city center, Königstein im Taunus, under the leadership of Mumm and Beier, could become a role model for other municipalities in the coming years.
