After work meets autumn flair: enjoyment and music in Königstein!
On Friday evening the mood in Königstein was palpable when the Königstein Trade and Commerce Association (HGK) together with the city launched the event format “After Work meets Autumn Flair”. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. the main street at the back was filled with life, music and fine dining. It was a wonderful evening that invited citizens to celebrate the golden autumn in good company.
Autumnal decorations attracted attention, even though they were only spread out in the front part of the pedestrian zone. The stand operators from the area offered a tempting selection of culinary delicacies - from fragrant bratwurst to fresh fruit and Mediterranean delicacies, the culinary delights were hard to miss. There were plenty of refreshments: soft drinks, fine wines from the Kastanienhof winery and refreshing beer from the Taunus Braumanufaktur ensured an all-round feel-good atmosphere.
Cultural enrichment
The musical entertainment was created by Maurice Zander, a multi-instrumentalist from Frankfurt. With his performances of rock, pop and blues classics, he ensured that visitors could not only feast, but also dance and sing along. “With this event, we want to bring life to the old town and make the diversity of Königstein known,” explained Udo Weihe from HGK.
A particular focus is on encouraging both residents and visitors to explore the often lesser-known shops in the old town. The event remains exclusively limited to the rear main street in order not to compete with the weekly market. This promotes harmonious coexistence, which should also benefit the community.
Outlook for the future
The initiators have already made plans: The HGK and the city of Königstein would like to offer the “After Work Meeting” regularly next year and are optimistic that business operators and residents will also show interest. After all, a lively old town not only brings joy, but also opportunities to do good business!
The response to the first event was consistently positive. The residents are open to this form of neighborhood celebration, which not only strengthens the community but also promotes cultural diversity. Events like these are currently experiencing an upswing, with similar formats becoming increasingly popular in other cities [WDR] reports that neighborhood festivals throughout North Rhine-Westphalia invite networking and exchange.
The Königssteiners seem to have a real nose for such events, and it will be interesting to see how the concept develops. Perhaps the old town will become a venue for social gatherings and culinary journeys of discovery more often in the future. In the future, the question might also arise: What does your ideal autumn evening in Königstein look like?
