Dornholzhausen fire department: Makeshift hall moves to Kirdorf!

A new era for the fire department is currently being heralded in Dornholzhausen. With the dismantling of the makeshift vehicle hall in front of the clubhouse at Saalburgstrasse 158, an important step towards modernizing and improving the infrastructure begins. This hall was used by the Dornholzhausen fire department to accommodate their vehicles, which could not be accommodated in the old fire station. It was pretty tight in the old building because the height of the hall and the parking space were not enough to accommodate a relay fire engine Bad Homburg reported.

The car park in front of the clubhouse is completely closed during the dismantling and it is expected that it will be closed until next week. But that's just the beginning! After the dismantling, the concrete parts are dismantled into the ground, after which the parking lot can be used to a limited extent during the ground work. The work should be completed by the end of the 47th calendar week so that everything is ready in time for the Christmas tree sale, which begins on November 24, 2025.

New location in Kirdorf

Parallel to the dismantling work, the foundation for the new vehicle hall is being laid on the premises of the Kirdorf fire department, Usinger Weg 23. The reconstruction of the hall at the new location is planned for the 47th calendar week. Once the work is completed, the hall will be handed over to the Kirdorf fire department. The new fire station in Dornholzhausen makes the temporary hall there superfluous. The move will significantly improve the parking situation for the emergency services.

But something is not only happening in Kirdorf! There is also a lot of work going on in Dornholzhausen: the new fire station is about to be inaugurated here. The new equipment house will be open to the public after the closing ceremony and three fire engines and two personnel transport vehicles will also be inaugurated. From 2 p.m. there is the opportunity to tour the equipment house with coffee and cake, while the musical supporting program is accompanied by the Oberkleen music train. Current standards and norms

But what does the construction quality of fire stations in Hesse say? The technical requirements have grown as a result of a variety of tasks. The revised DIN series of standards for fire stations, training towers and workshops from 2024 shows: Local architects and planners have a clear framework for action to create functional fire brigade buildings. The hygienic requirements and the avoidance of contamination spread are particularly important here, which is intended to increase safety and efficiency in fire service work, reports HFUK North.

The new hall in Kirdorf not only optimizes the parking space situation, but also lays the foundation for modern and future-oriented fire service work. In an environment where technical requirements for fire stations are constantly increasing, it is extremely important that the emergency services have the necessary equipment. And this new location in Kirdorf will make a decisive contribution to this.
