The Holzstraße, specifically the section between Fischbacher Straße and Eberbacher Straße, is expected to be fully closed until the end of July. The reason for this measure is urgently needed civil engineering work to renew a water pipe that is carried out on behalf of Hessenwasser. The construction work is carried out in two consecutive sections. During this time, however, the accessibility of the properties remains guaranteed. This can be used via Homburger Straße and Dotzheimer Straße on the corner to Wiesbadener Straße. Pedestrians are not affected by the blocking and can continue to use their usual paths. Nevertheless, the city asks for understanding for the resulting traffic disruptions that the construction work will inevitably bring with it.

The work on Holzstrasse is part of a larger initiative to modernize the transport network in Wiesbaden. As Wiesbaden lives describes in detail, the city plans extensive investments in new street infrastructure. In 2024, around 4.35 million euros were already stuck in the expansion of traffic and sidewalks. Over 60 projects are currently on the table, 21 of which have already been billed and 23 were awarded.

The traffic department has recorded an increase in construction activities in recent years. An example of the urgency of these measures is the renovation of Schiersteiner Straße, which will also house a construction site from June 29 to mid -August. Other parallel projects, such as channel renewal on the Konrad-Adenauer-Ring, illustrate the extensive efforts to improve the transport infrastructure. The city hopes for a shortening of construction times and savings in costs.

Overall, Wiesbaden cannot avoid facing the challenges of a growing city and the need for modern traffic control. The citizens are facing a time of the changes inside, which hopefully will be rewarded with a well -functioning new transport network.
