New security consultants train seniors in the Main-Taunus district for more protection!

On November 14, 2025, the district office of the Main-Taunus district became the venue for important training for new security advisors for senior citizens. At a time when older people are increasingly being targeted by criminals, it is obvious that this particularly vulnerable group should be better protected. A total of 14 people took part in this seminar, with 12 coming from the Main-Taunus district and 2 from the Limburg-Weilburg district. Police Director Tobias Erler welcomed the participants and expressed his gratitude for the volunteer work that is so essential to the safety of older citizens in the region. This is reported by the Hesse police.

As part of the training, the participants were informed about a variety of topics. The lectures, which were given by experts from the prevention department of the E4 police headquarters, the Main-Taunus police department and the district prevention council, covered topics such as cybersecurity and various forms of fraud, which are often directed against senior citizens. This includes particularly perfidious methods such as the grandchild trick, shock calls and other tricks used by crooks. The aim was to give well-founded tips on self-protection so that the new advisors know exactly how they can help their fellow citizens, he explains District Prevention Council.

Secure future for seniors

After completing the seminar, the graduates received their certificates from Urban Egert and Andreas Suda, the managing directors of the district prevention council, and went into their new role well equipped. This also includes offering free information events in their home communities. They often work hand in hand with the police to inform citizens about prevention and point out possible risks. The municipalities of Bad Soden, Eppstein, Eschborn, Flörsheim, Hochheim, Hofheim, Kelkheim, Kriftel, Liederbach, Sulzbach and Taunusstein now have numerous new contacts at their disposal.

The number of active security advisors in the Main-Taunus district increases to almost 160. This is an important step to better protect older people in society. Thanks also went to the E4 Police Department for their support with the lectures. A next event is already being planned for December, which will also be accompanied by the police - another sign that safety in old age is very important in the Main-Taunus district.

If you are interested in becoming an active security consultant yourself, you can contact the Prevention Department or contact your local authority directly. Further training has already been announced for 2026. The signs are therefore good that even more citizens will stand up for the safety of the older generation.
