Drama in Bad Soden: warehouse burns down – police investigate!
Things got hot in Bad Soden am Taunus on the night of Saturday, August 16, 2025. Residents alerted the fire department at 1:55 a.m. when they noticed massive smoke coming from a warehouse on Am Haag Street. When the fire department arrived, the building was already engulfed in flames. However, the emergency services were able to prevent the fire from spreading to an adjacent residential building. According to News.de, the property damage amounts to around 1,000,000 euros, while the cause of the fire remains unclear for the time being. The criminal police in Sulzbach have taken over the investigation and are asking witnesses for relevant information by calling (06196) 2073-0.
Not long after the fire, a scooter theft in Hochheim am Main caused a stir. At 4:46 a.m. two unknown perpetrators stole a black “Peugeot” scooter from private property on Zipserstrasse. An attentive resident was able to observe the perpetrators and described one of them as male, around 16 to 18 years old, with a slim build, wearing a cap and a snood. The value of the stolen scooter is around 500 euros. Luckily, the scooter was later found at a nearby playground. Here, too, the investigations by the criminal police in Sulzbach are ongoing.
Traffic accident in Kelkheim
On the same day, at 10:15 a.m., a serious traffic accident occurred on the B 455 between Kelkheim-Fischbach and Eppstein. A 24-year-old motorcyclist who was driving a Piaggio was overlooked by a 60-year-old Volvo driver at the intersection with Eppsteiner Straße, which resulted in a collision. The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and the road will remain closed until further notice while DEKRA experts investigate the scene of the accident. The investigation is also underway here.
