Aggression on the Hochheim market: Firefighter is attacked!
Last weekend there were various incidents in the Main-Taunus region that brought the police to the scene. The events at the Hochheim market, which took place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, were particularly striking.
A firefighter was attacked while helping a woman in need. According to news-stadt.de, a 25-year-old man from Mainz attacked the helper and hit him in the face. The incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. on the festival grounds on Alleestrasse. However, thanks to an attentive witness, the perpetrator was arrested. The investigation into bodily harm is ongoing.
Thefts and hit and run accidents
The cases of theft at the Hochheim market were equally unsatisfactory. A Google Pixel 7a was stolen from a visitor between 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The police are also investigating here and warn about the seriousness of pickpockets at large events. The police are accepting information about this incident on 06145-5476-0, as presseportal.de reports.
However, the region was not only affected by the incidents at the market. In Hofheim am Taunus, a parked VW Polo was damaged from Friday to Saturday. The unknown perpetrator left the scene of the accident without permission. The material damage is estimated at around 500 euros. The police are also asking for information on 06192-2079-0, as was also announced by news-stadt.de.
Focus on drunk drivers
Alcohol also played a significant role in the security situation in the region. There were several alcohol-related traffic accidents in Eschborn on Saturday, November 8th. At 10:40 p.m., a 40-year-old man from Frankfurt drove drunk onto private property and caused property damage of around 700 euros. A breath alcohol test showed 1.11 per mille.
In addition, at 7:50 p.m. the police found a 31-year-old driver of a construction vehicle who was driving without lights and under the influence of alcohol. His breath alcohol test result was 1.15 per mille, which led to his driving license being confiscated.
On Sunday, November 9th, two more drivers were checked in Eppstein and Kelkheim, who were also under the influence of alcohol. A 39-year-old man in Eppstein had a blood alcohol level of 1.01, while a 28-year-old woman in Kelkheim refused her test and a blood sample was taken. The police are calling on all road users to be responsible and to drive soberly.
The police will continue to carry out increased road safety checks in the coming period in order to prevent further incidents and ensure the safety of all road users.
