Vogelsbergkreis welcomes four new inspector candidates in the public service!
The staffing ratio will be increased in the Vogelsberg district: On September 1st, four new inspector candidates will begin their dual studies in “Public Administration” at the district administration. District Administrator Dr. Jens Mischak presented the newly crowned candidates with their certificates in a festive ceremony, which he described as a “very, very nice event”. The new faces are Julius Becker, Lennart Schlosser, Samira Schier and Finja Merschrod, and they bring very different backgrounds to the training.
Julius Becker, 18 years old and native of Schlitz, completed his high school diploma at the Alexander-von-Humboldt-Gymnasium in Lauterbach. He likes the sense of purpose and security that a career in public service brings with it. The other candidates are also convinced of the advantages of the dual course of study: Samira Schier (19) from Schrecksbach is particularly looking forward to the alternation between theory and practice and the chance to get to know different offices.
The training in detail
The dual bachelor's degree in "Public Administration" qualifies participants for management tasks in public administration and other public institutions. The focus is on modern application techniques and business knowledge that are used not only in the public sector, but also in the private sector. The goal is clear: the graduates should be well prepared for the challenges in the cooperating municipalities and institutions, as the official information from the Vogelsbergkreis reveals. The course is divided into theoretical and practical study sections, which take place at the Hessian University of Police and Administration.
Lennart Schlosser (20) from Homberg-Maulbach originally wanted to study politics and German as a teacher, but quickly found that the job was too monotonous for him. “I wanted more variety,” said the future inspector candidate. Finja Merschrod (19) from Dirlammen has already completed a student internship in the main and human resources office and would now like to combine theory and practice, especially in a potential future role in the press office of the district administration.
Career opportunities after graduation
The career prospects after completing a dual course of study are extremely promising. Whether in public administration, at authorities or in various government institutions, the possibilities are diverse. According to a study, 80% of dual students stay in their company after training. Careers in the areas of finance, human resources, project management and organization are in demand, which makes dual study an attractive option for many young people. The pay is also impressive, as remuneration in the public sector is based on collective bargaining agreements and secure civil servant status offers an additional perspective.
The study places for the dual Bachelor program are regularly advertised in local daily newspapers and on the websites of the Vogelsbergkreis and the employment agency. This means that all doors will continue to be open for interested young people to start a career in public service in the future.

The first steps have been taken - we can't wait to see what the new inspector candidates will achieve over the course of their careers!
