Rotenburg Street Food Festival: A feast for all the senses!
The fifth street food festival took place in the heart of Rotenburg an der Fulda on the Pentecost weekend. The event, which took place between June 6th and 9th, 2025 in the picturesque castle park, brought together numerous gourmets and friends of good food. Over 20 international suppliers invited visitors with a rich selection of culinary delights, including Indonesian, Mexican and Albanian specialties that bring the taste of the world to their plates.
American corn dogs are particularly popular at the moment and are also becoming increasingly popular in Germany. Other highlights of the festival included hearty burgers, bratwursts and, for those with a sweet tooth, sweet treats such as churros and soft ice cream. The meaty delicacies were grilled very professionally by culinary leaders Eric Richter-Bellof, known for his pulled pork from Iberico pigs, and Dieter Lüke, who prepared delicious game meat burgers.
Entertainment and fun for the whole family
But it wasn't just the culinary offerings that made the festival a real celebration. The musical background was also very important. Dirk Schaller alias Reiner Irrsinn created a good atmosphere with his show on Friday evening, followed by performances by Frank Winkler and the jazz dance group from the Rotenburg gymnastics community on the remaining festival days. The crowning finale was the performance of the well-known Wildecker Herzbuben, which even encouraged some guests to dance.
In addition to the extensive music program, there was also a specially designed children's area that featured an XXL kids fun park, bouncy castles and a 17 meter long obstacle course. This meant that not only the adults but also the little visitors were offered an unforgettable experience.
A celebration for the environment
In times of climate change, sustainability is also an important topic at the street food festival. The organizers relied on environmentally friendly measures, such as using reusable purchase cups to protect against waste. Spectators were able to visit the festival on Friday for an entrance fee of 12 euros; From Saturday to Monday entry was even free.
What would an event like this be without the distinctive atmosphere? Despite the changeable weather - from bright sunshine to small rain showers - visitors still enjoyed the variety of food and the lively atmosphere.
