Friedlos celebrates 100 years of fire: Minister congratulates warmly!
Last weekend in the Friedlos district, a very special event was celebrated in the municipality of Ludwigsau: the Friedlos volunteer fire brigade celebrated its 100th anniversary. The fire brigade, which was originally founded on June 7, 1925 and replaced the former compulsory fire brigade, is one of the pioneers in the Hersfeld district when it comes to voluntary fire departments. Of the original 66 active founding members, the weir has now developed into one of the indispensable institutions in the village that is available around the clock for fire protection and technical assistance.
The celebrations started with an exciting orientation march in which the children's and youth fire brigades took part. In the evening the festival commer, who, with musical performances by the MGV Liederkranz, came up with Friedlos and impressive demonstrations by the "Firestorms Kathus". The event attracted numerous guests of honor, including Mayor Patrick Kuhn, former mayor Thomas Baumann, as well as various representatives of the district and politics, such as district administrator Torsten Warnecke and member of the Bundestag Wilhelm Gebhardt (CDU).
speech and honors
In his speech, District Administrator Warnecke praised the fire brigade for its outstanding performance, in particular the high number of suitable breathing apparatus wearers. Mayor Kuhn took the opportunity to thank the firefighters for their tireless efforts and recognized the development of the fire brigade into a professional troop. The highlight of the celebration was the visit of Minister Roman Poseck, who brought the congratulations of the Hessian state government. Poseck presented the "honor badge of the state of Hesse to anniversaries of public fire brigades" to military leader Andreas Lehn and thus praised the long -term work of the fire brigade. The minister also explained the new initiative "Respect package", which serves to support emergency services and address violence against them. Another gratifying point was the handover of a funding notice of over 500 euros to support the association's work. Clear investments by the Hessian state government of three million euros for fire and disaster protection underline support for the important voluntary work of the fire brigade.
A look into the future
The Friedlos volunteer fire brigade currently consists of 33 active emergency services, which are supported by 11 members of the youth fire brigade and 18 members of the children's group. There are also 14 members of the age and honor department as well as 180 club members. These figures reflect the living community, which ensures that the fire brigade can continue to support in the future.
But not only in Friedlos, the voluntary commitment is promoted and praised. It turns out all over Germany: The voluntary services are still indispensable in our society. The developments in the area of population protection, which also include the fire brigade, are funded by the Federal Office for Population Protection and Disaster Aid (BBK). Appropriate initiatives are intended to support the structural considerations for voluntary fire brigades and private aid organizations in order to secure and strengthen their work in the long term, also with regard to voluntary work without a legal obligation, such as bbk.bund.de determined.
A look at other festivities shows that the celebrations around the fire brigade can also have a sociable aspect. The ABBENSEN volunteer fire brigade is also planning its 100th anniversary with various events, which will take place from June 2 to 4, 2023. These include a commerce evening for the members and an early shopping with music on Sunday-and everyone is welcome to take part (ff-abbensen.de).
Overall, it can be seen that the commitment of the voluntary fire departments in Hesse is strong and makes a valuable contribution to the security of the citizens. Whether in Friedlos or elsewhere, the community is together - that is lived solidarity!
