Culinary classic car tour through the Rhön: enjoy and do good!
On Sunday, the members of the Lions Club Fulda-Bonifatius went on a very special trip. The "Culinary Young/Oldtimer and Cabriotour" started at the Mazda-Krämer car dealership in Fulda and brought almost 30 vehicles, including chic classic cars and elegant convertibles, a picturesque 110-kilometer route through the Rhön. The members of several classic car clubs and lovers of glamorous vehicles took part and created a lot of joy and good atmosphere - even the unstable weather could not cloud the enthusiasm, as [Osthessen News] (https://osthessen-news.de/n11777805/mit-cabrio-oder-oldtimer- Derhen-lion-fulda-fulda-bonifatius-uf-tml) reported.
This event was not only a pleasure for the eyes, but also for the palate. During the tour, the participants were provided with a delicious snack, and the crowning final took place in the form of a grill buffet in the Café of the Antonius Foundation in Fulda. The proceeds of the tour will benefit the Antonius Foundation, which supports the project "He: Growing", as well as the initiative "Blessed and Fatty" of the Lutherkirche Fulda, which both promote important social projects.
The Lions Club in action
Andreas Kapp, President of the Lions Club Fulda-Bonifatius, was enthusiastic about the positive response of the participants. The passion for driving beautiful cars paired with the culinary enjoyment creates a committed community that moves a lot together. "Right now when we get together more, it is important to create such offers," explains Kapp.
The event is only one of many activities that the Lions Club Fulda has been organizing for over 65 years. The club belongs to Lions International, a network of over 1.4 million members worldwide, which is committed to service to the community and support of people in need. Among other things, the proceeds of projects such as the Advent calendar 2024 of 5 euros per piece are invested in social projects, including the “Rose bread” project of the Social Service of Catholic Women Fulda, which is fighting child poverty.
other highlights for classic car fans
For classic car enthusiasts, there will also be exciting events in the coming months. On July 5, 2025, the “2nd Lions Stör Classic” will take place in Itzehoe, which also ensures entertainment with live music and culinary delicacies. Registration for participation in this event is free of charge, whereby there is also a "Best of Show" competition, the proceeds of which benefit social projects. The anticipation for this event is great, not least because of the impressive classics that will enliven the streets, as on itzehoe lions can be read.
summarized can be said that the Lions Club Fulda-Bonifatius once again proved with the classic car tour how important the exchange is in the community and how much joy it can prepare the driving of these vehicles, while at the same time social projects are supported. The commitment of the members and the sociable atmosphere make such events a valuable part of cultural life in the region.
