Designing the future: Successful professional orientation fair in Korbach!

Korbach, Deutschland - On June 11, 2025, a lively professional orientation fair took place at the Louis Peter School (LPS) in Korbach, which with a total of 166 students and 19 exhibitors left a positive response. Three exhibitors more than in the previous year, the young people who were looking for valuable insights into the professional world lured. The LPS principal, Thomas Janzen, underlined the importance of contacts between students and companies. "Here the foundation stone is laid for many careers," says Janzen. The event offered the students the opportunity to select two different workshops designed by the exhibiting companies. The focus was on practical exercises: from implementing soldering to patients to hygiene practices, the young people were able to mark what the most promised them.

The interactive offers made available by the exhibitors were particularly popular. Lidl invited the students to explore the branch while the Wachenfeld company invited to work with a leveling device. Hewi offered workshops for soldering and building solar fans and bottle openers. "The feedback from the students was consistently positive, many perceive the event as valuable help," says training manager Daniel Wilke, who also reports from an increase in internship figures to 15-20 per year.
