MT Talents win bronze at the VW Cup: big handball event!

The MT Talents achieved a great third place at the C-Youth Volkswagen Cup in the Melsung city sports hall. In an exciting final, the Füchse Berlin beat the Mittelhessen Youngsters from Hüttenberg 14:12 and secured first place. Participation in the tournament only included teams playing in the Regionalliga, the top division for C youth teams.

At the Volkswagen Cup, which was well received, MT Talents, Füchse Berlin, Mittelhessen Youngsters, JSG Westfalen, TV Großwallstadt and TSV Anderten competed against each other. The talents from Melsungen reached the semi-finals by finishing second in their group. There were some exciting encounters: However, they had to admit defeat to the Füchsen 12:22 in the semi-finals.

With these results, the MT Talents were finally able to qualify for the small final. There they showed all their skills and won against JSG Westfalen with 22:12, which secured them the bronze medal.

The final round and honors

In the semi-finals there was an encounter between JSG Westfalen and Mittelhessen Youngsters, where the latter won 18:15. The game for fifth place also offered exciting handball: Here TSV Anderten prevailed against TV Großwallstadt with 28:23.

Timo Köhling from JSG Westfalen, who was named player of the tournament, deserves special mention. Axel Renner, MT board member, used the award ceremony to thank the organizational team and all the helpers for their great work.

Handball is also an exciting topic in the youth Bundesliga. A look at Füchse Berlin shows that they are currently at the top of their league without losing any points. These achievements confirm the high status that the team has in youth handball. HSV Hamburg can't quite keep up after a defeat against THW Kiel and has to prepare intensively to stay in the race. The achievements of both teams are inspiring for the MT Talents, who are motivated by such role models to continue working on their development.
