A series of house break-ins is causing unrest in Vellmar and Habichtswald. On Friday, July 14, 2025, two incidents occurred that kept the police on their toes. As the HNA reported, it is still unclear whether the perpetrators were identical in both cases.
In the first case in Vellmar, things went smoothly between 10:30 and 11 a.m. The burglars pried open a door to a single-family home on Heckershäuser Strasse. A window broke and one of the perpetrators apparently sustained an injury. The perpetrators left empty-handed and fled towards a nearby sports hall. The material damage caused by the incident amounts to around 2,000 euros.
Burglary in Habichtswald
The police immediately launched a search with several patrol cars, but this has so far been unsuccessful. The investigators are asking the public for help. Information can be reported by calling 0561/9100.
