The pre-Christmas season is just around the corner, and in Hofgeismar it will be celebrated appropriately: On the weekend of November 29th and 30th, 2025, numerous Christmas markets will open their doors and invite visitors to lose themselves in the festive spirit. In Calden, the Advent market opens in the community center on Saturday, November 29th, where coffee and cake will be served from 3 p.m. A highlight of the day is the service in St. John's Church at 5 p.m., followed by a social gathering in the churchyard, where mulled wine and bratwurst await visitors. The Calden Carnival Club also sells tickets from 6:30 p.m.
Variety of Christmas markets

In Lippoldsberg the Christmas market takes place around the monastery church. There are 35 stalls here and the opening times on Saturday and Sunday are from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Music and St. Nicholas stories in the church will entertain visitors while a fire show awaits on Sunday at 6 p.m.
