Police are desperately searching for two missing boys from Hofgeismar!
There are currently two worrying developments in the Kassel region that are attracting the attention of the police. On the one hand, the Kassel criminal police have been missing since Monday morning, August 11, 2025, two 13-year-old boys, Leon J. and Omar T., who disappeared from their apartments in Hofgeismar. Despite intensive investigations into the boys' personal environment, their whereabouts remain unclear. The police are urgently asking the public for information about the missing young people who are probably traveling together. Leon J. is around 1.80 meters tall, slim and has short black hair. He could be wearing jeans, a white T-shirt with “Los Angeles” written on it and a black fanny pack. Omar T., on the other hand, is around 1.70 meters tall, thin and has close-shaven black hair. Information about the whereabouts of the boys should be directed to the North Hesse Police Headquarters or any local police station.
The situation remains tense for parents in the area as the investigation continues. Fortunately, there are also reportable incidents that are less dramatic but also affect citizens' sense of security.
Police in large-scale operation due to threats
On Monday evening, a 27-year-old man caused a lot of excitement on Jägerstrasse in Kassel. While under the influence of drugs, he threatened two people with a butter knife and a metal rod, which led to an extensive police operation. The incident began around 11:45 p.m. when witnesses reported a verbal altercation between the suspect and an unknown man. The attempted threat escalated when the 27-year-old attacked a passer-by who wanted to mediate with a restaurant chair. He only allowed himself to be arrested by the police after being threatened with a distance electrical impulse device. During the search, the police also found a small amount of cocaine on him. The man was taken to a cell at the Central Police Detention Center to prevent further crimes. The police are now investigating threats, attempted grievous bodily harm and a violation of the Narcotics Act, which makes the incident appear particularly serious.
Fear on the playground
Another worrying incident occurred on Christmas Eve 2024, when two seven-year-old boys were threatened at a playground in Kassel's Unterneustadt. A man who appeared to be very drunk threatened the children so severely that they fled home in panic and informed their parents. They then immediately notified the police. The perpetrator, who is described as unkempt and racist, is between 40 and 50 years old and wears a full beard and a dark wool hat and jacket. He disappeared in the area of Blücherstrasse and Sternstrasse. The regional authorities have now taken over the investigation and are not ruling out a possible racist background to the threat. The police are also asking for information from witnesses on 0561 / 9100. Complex entanglements of this kind make the investigation complex.
It is to be hoped that police will soon make progress both in the case of the missing boys and in solving the threats on the playground. It is crucial for citizens in Hesse to be vigilant and always report suspicious observations immediately to ensure community safety.
