VfV 06 Hildesheim thrilled in the first test: 4-1 win against Baunatal!

On July 7, 2025, VfV 06 Hildesheim started the preparation for the 2025/26 Oberliga season with a brilliant victory. In the first test match the team met KSV Baunatal and won 4-1. All four strikers found the net, which underlined Hildesheim's offensive strength. Jannis Pläschke celebrated his comeback in central defense after an injury break, while new signing Thommy Cage, previously active at SV Schermbeck, also came into action [sportnews-hildesheim.de].

Coach Ridha Kitar, who has been leading the team with assistant coach Dominik Franke for two weeks, used a 3-5-2 system in the game. The team appeared harmonious and well-coordinated on the pitch. After the first 45 minutes, VfV was already leading 3-0, with Louis Malina scoring the first goal from a penalty in the 27th minute. Just four minutes later, Mick Gudra increased the score to 0-2 and Carlos Christel went one better after half-time.

Club day and further test matches

The atmosphere was particularly good on the traditional club day, which took place at the same time as the test match. From 11 a.m., teams, fans and helpers gathered on Lucienvörder Allee to introduce the new players and the fresh cooperation with Türk Gücü, as Fupa reports. The team expects the next test match on July 9th against SV Bavenstedt, followed by further matches against Bovender SV and the Kehrwieder Cup in Ochtersum.

The coaching staff is working hard to put the team together as several players are currently injured or absent. The search for another central defender is currently of great importance for VfV. A look at the schedule makes it clear that the team is also looking forward to the round of 16 in the cup against the reigning NFV cup winner Atlas Delmenhorst on August 2nd and 3rd. The first league game of the Oberliga Niedersachsen will take place on August 10th against the same opponent.
