Kenai, The Fear -Hazus: Looking for a new home!
In the small town of Reichelsheim and in the Elisabethenhof animal shelter, something extraordinary is currently happening: the male Kenai, which has a moving and traumatic past, is looking for a new home. In October 2021 it was found under dramatic circumstances when he was connected to a current mast at night. He is silent about the circumstances of his suspension, but his past has left traces. Full of fear and suspicion, as Nina Pfannkoch, the dog area manager of the shelter, he barked with the lure Doner and brought it into a kennel. Phew, that sounds like a real thrill!
Kenaai is a magnificent, black -brown mixed breed with a stately chest and a wide head. Despite its size and strength, his reaction to people is often shaped by uncertainty and defense, and motorcycles are particularly concerned. A tragic irony for a dog that was once full of trust. But he also has a positive side: Kenai is intelligent, capable of learning and shows great loyalty to his caregiver. This is also shown by the fact that he likes to work with people who are willing to counter the patience and understanding that he needs so urgently.
a home for Kenai
A special home is sought for Kenaai. He needs a sovereign, clear caregiver, preferably without children and in a stable, quiet environment. "The most important thing is that the new owner is ready to train with us and get involved in Kenais individual pace," emphasizes Pfannkoch. Everyday animal shelter is not always easy, and the mediation is particularly challenging. Around five new admission inquiries come every day, but the demands on the new owners are increasing.
In the shelter, around 25 dogs currently live, many of them with a difficult story. Molosser dogs such as Kenai are in demand, but especially for dogs with prey behavior or emotional under demand, the opportunities for mediation are low. It is often the people who cannot spend enough time or understanding for their animals. "Dog keeping is a privilege, not a fundamental right," makes Pfannkoch clear. The adoption of a dog not only offers a second chance for the animals, but also creates space for other dogs in need. The animal protection league also offers the opportunity to convey dogs online, which makes the process easier.
Requirements for future owners
The interest in adoption of a dog is high, but a lot of factors come into play. A personal conversation takes place before placement to clarify the prerequisites for attitude. "It is important that dogs do not stay alone for more than six hours, especially when the adopter is fully employed," explains Pfannkoch. The security of the new home is also checked for the preliminary control, including the run -out options for the dog.
The cost of adoption varies between 50 and 350 euros, depending on factors such as age and properties of the dog. This gives the future keepers the chance to close a loyal companion like Kenai in their heart and to offer him a loving home.
Kenaai has the potential to live a happy life with the right person. Pannkoch would not be sorry if Kenai finds a new owner. On the contrary, she sees it crucial that the dog gets into the right hands. If you are interested, you should get in touch quickly - Kenai should finally get the chance of a happy life!
